FLSA Classification: Exempt
Salary Range: $58,000 - $75,000

Position Overview:
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, payroll management, financial reporting, and compliance with financial regulations. This role will ensure the organization’s financial health and sustainability by maintaining detailed financial records and supporting budgeting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, invoices, and financial statements in accordance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Manage payroll, ensuring all employees are compensated correctly and on time.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to leadership, highlighting key financial trends and insights.
  • Oversee budgeting processes and assist department heads with financial planning and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations, including tax filings, payroll regulations, and financial reporting requirements. 
  • Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors, facilitating the audit process and implementing recommendations for improvement.
  • Track and manage the organization’s cash flow and financial reserves to ensure sustainability.
  • Support strategic planning by providing financial insights, trend analysis, and projections for future growth.
  • Collaborate with program managers to gather necessary documentation and financial data to ensure accuracy for invoicing.
  • Liaise with funding agencies regarding financial inquiries and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including financial reporting standards and audit protocols.
  • Prepare and submit accurate grant invoices promptly, working with the internal team ensuring accuracy and compliance with grant guidelines.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (Zoho preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Experience in managing audits, processing payroll, compliance and tax reporting.
